About Water Quality Tests
Water quality testing checks the water supply of a home for contaminants and pollutants using a simple, but specialized test. Water quality testing checks for contaminants and pollutants such as chlorine, lead, and coliform bacteria that could lead to various health conditions. These tests ensure the home’s water is potable and safe for everyday use.
Water Quality
A water quality test will reveal different bacteria, chemicals, and minerals that may be present in the water. Although local water plants test and treat water; these protections can and do fail and do not consider water mains or water lines that service the home. The EPA recommends that a residential water supply be tested annually for bacteria, nitrates, chemicals, and other potential pollutants so that your water remains safe. When considering a new home, you’ll want to know the quality of each and every aspect, including the water, so make sure you have water quality testing done as part of your home inspection as well.
How We Perform Water Quality Tests
Erie Inspection Service will take 3 samples from the home to test for e-coli, lead, nitrates, nitrites, bacteria and other potential contaminants. The samples are shipped overnight to an independent lab for analysis, and then results are usually received within 72 hours for you to view and understand.
We provide an easy-to-understand digital report on the findings, any elevated levels, summaries, and recommendations on how to improve your water quality as well. Water quality is important to take seriously because poor water quality can lead to issues, for your health, if not taken care of properly.
